Boat Harbour Beach is a small township and on the north west coast of Tasmania. The area is a popular tourist destination, the main attraction is the semi-circular sandy beach tucked down beside the hillside. The township has a population of 136, according to the 2006 census. Boat Harbour Beach, nestled between a dramatic hinterland and azure waters is just 15 minutes from Burnie/Wynyard airport, 45 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal and 55 minutes from the airport in Devonport, each providing easy daily connections to Melbourne and beyond. Boat Harbour Post Office opened on 1 November 1878. The coastal town of Wynyard is just 10 minutes drive from Boat Harbour Beach. Wynyard has a range of services and facilities such as: shops, banks, a community health centre, library, yacht club, churches, aero club, bowls club, and post office. Wynyard is also host to the annual (Tulip Festival ) each October which attracts national interest each year. ==Further reading==
